St. Augustine Parish is a vibrant Catholic faith community in Ottawa’s Carleton Heights neighbourhood. Rooted in the Augustinian tradition, we strive to grow together in faith, hope, and love — guided by the wisdom of our patron, St. Augustine of Hippo, who reminds us that “our hearts are restless until they rest in You, O Lord.”

Our Story
Founded in 1953, St. Augustine Parish began as a small country mission serving post-war families in the newly formed Carleton Heights neighbourhood.
Through the dedication of its first parishioners and the Augustinian Fathers, the community quickly grew. The church was completed in 1956, and for nearly seventy years, it has stood as a place of worship, prayer, and fellowship in the heart of Ottawa’s west end.
Today, St. Augustine remains a spiritual refuge — a place where faith is nourished, friendships are formed, and the Gospel comes alive.
Our Pastor
Fr. Francis Scott was ordained in 1984 and first served at St. Augustine that same year. After many years of ministry across the Archdiocese of Ottawa, he returned as pastor in 2015.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Father Scott brings deep pastoral experience and a warm, approachable spirit to our parish family. His ministry is marked by care, humility, and a love for helping people draw closer to Christ.
